In Bevington Group projects compliance and productivity needs are comfortably combined. We find that for appropriately designed processes, high levels of compliance are actually extremely productive. So, the challenge is two-fold:

  • To embed compliance into business processes, rather than making compliance an afterthought;
  • Combine compliance and productivity requirements into the same process of work.

The end-result is a well designed lean process, with compliance steps embedded, and an intelligent monitoring system. The Change Management techniques described in the previous section assist in embedding the behavioural changes required to achieve compliance to the process. Behavioural Change Indicators (a type of measure that specifically addresses behaviours) help to ensure that the processes stay on-track.

The process of review often starts with mapping the existing process, but then moves to intelligent process design and effective change management.
